Wayne Sumarah, CEO of industry group Digital Nova Scotia, will retire at the end of May after three years on the job.
Sumarah, a marking executive who previously worked in the telecommunications sector, presided over a 50 percent increase in the organization’s membership, along with 136 percent revenue growth and a more than doubling of staff.
“Wayne’s strategic, kind and people-focused approach brought new light to Digital Nova Scotia, and to our sector,” said chair Jenn Priske in a statement. “We will miss him but as a grandfather of five we know he will be kept blissfully busy!
“On behalf of the entire Board of Directors, and team, we wish Wayne the best and feel confident that our industry will continue to benefit from his leadership.”
Digital Nova Scotia’s board is in the process of searching for Sumarah’s successor.
