BlueLight Analytics, a Halifax-based health tech company, has made three additions to its senior management team to include a new VP of Business Development, VP of Technology and a VP of Product and Marketing.

Theresa Lee, Derek LeBlanc, and Matt Cooper will be filling the roles respectively.

“We have a lot of exciting things on the horizon,” said BlueLight’s CEO JP Fury in a statement.

“We’re focused on building an all-star team that’s going to help us get to the next level. Derek, Theresa and Matt are experts in their fields and have brought new experience, insight and energy to the company. ”

BlueLight has built software that solves a big problem in the dental industry. The lights dentists use to cure resin vary, so different models have to be used for different amounts of time to cure the resin properly. BlueLight uses data to ensure each device is used for the correct amount of time.

And the company, which has a distribution agreement with 3M Corp, has had a year of achieving milestones.

The company has expanded its checkMARC service to over 35 countries around the world, secured new partnerships with leading dental manufacturers, and has collected more than 1 million data points through over 70,000 checkMARC evaluations. Fury was also a presenter of growth-stage companies at this year’s Atlantic Venture Forum.

The additions to its management team will help the company facilitate rapid growth.

Lee, who joined BlueLight in April, has spent the past 16 years of her career in a variety of business-to-business roles, with companies such as Johnson & Johnson, Siemens, Axis Dental, and most recently with Halifax-based STI Technologies Ltd.

Leblanc is returning to his full time role at BlueLight after working in Vancouver at Intel. He brings over 15 years of experience as a software engineer and researcher in machine learning to the company and has been leading the development of its new AI-powered technology.

Cooper, who is the co-founder and Chief Product Officer of Swept Technologies, in Halifax has joined as BlueLight’s new VP, Product and Marketing. He is an active member and contributor to Halifax’s startup ecosystem and brings more than 20 years of experience in product development and marketing to the BlueLight team.
