Halifax startup hub Volta is looking for applicants to its annual Democamp, which gives startups the chance to showcase their technology for investors and other innovation community members.

Slated to be held at Volta’s Barrington Street offices Feb. 16, the event lets entrepreneurs expound on the technological aspects of their businesses. But they must do so without the help of a slide deck.

The aim of Democamp is to focus on the technology being showcased, not the finances or business development strategies of the companies presenting.

Each company will have five minutes to discuss their product, and audience members will be encouraged to offer feedback or ask questions.

The event will not be judged and there will be no prizes. To be eligible, startups must be based in Atlantic Canada and have working technology to showcase. Anyone can attend as an audience member.

Founders interested in participating can learn more and apply here. The deadline is Jan. 25 at 11:59 p.m.
