Three early-stage New Brunswick startups have entered the Venn Garage incubator program, after being selected from the open pitch competition in July.

As a resident Garage startup, the new companies will receive a hotdesk at the Junction, Venn’s new tech-focused innovation hub in Moncton. They will also be offered workshops and coaching sessions, resources and networks, as well as support with tech-validation and help in acquiring early-adoption customers and initial funding, organizers said in a statement.

“The new startups are all building something that will make the consumer’s life and work easy,” said Norbert Demps, Entrepreneur-in-Residence at Venn. “They impressed the judges’ panel with their clarity, focus and preparedness to move forward in business.”

The new participants include:

Praktical – Amirhossein Matoufiazar, Kingsley Ogbuanya and Ethan Nguyen are building a property assessment web application for realtors that will give buyers a more realistic cost of ownership that includes repair estimates and more.

Ace – A physiotherapist and osteopath with 20 years’ experience, Sylvain Mancuso is building an AI powered virtual assistant for medical professionals.

BestSupply – Matt Hanlon’s startup provides businesses with an easy-to-use digital platform to design, launch, manage, and improve their supply chain.

This was the first open pitch competition since the program went hybrid and the Junction opened.

“The incubator space within the Junction allows startups to be a part of a true tech community,” said Demps.

“They meet mentors, tech entrepreneurs, tech companies and other startups face to face, frequently and regularly. Apart from this, their shared assets and resources can be used more effectively between everyone on their team.”

To date, the Venn incubator has helped more than 100 startups, resulting in an investment of more than $4.7M in new ideas, organizers said.
