Doug Robertson the CEO of Venn Innovation, a New Brunswick tech support organization, has been appointed Chair of the Technology Councils of North America.
TECNA represents nearly 50 IT and Technology trade organizations, which account for more than 22,000 technology-related companies across the continent, said a satement.
Venn, which is based out of Moncton, is the only Atlantic Canadian tech organization represented on the board, which also includes associations from California, Toronto and Washington.
“It is an exciting time for TECNA as we continue to grow with new members joining us this year in Canada, the United States, and for the first time Mexico,” said Robertson in the statement.
“The tech industry we serve is global and dynamic and we have much planned in the year ahead to support our members, including a more robust effort around policy development and important industry challenges such as access to talent and workforce diversity.“
Robertson replaces outgoing Chairman Skip Newberry of the Technology Association of Oregon, who will continue to serve on the Board.
The changes to the board were made official at TECNA’s annual Summer Conference in Des Moines, Iowa on July 24-26.
The board, which will consist of 10 men and three women from executive positions at tech associations across North America, will oversee operations for the 2018-2019 year.
“We’re very pleased to have these tech industry leaders on TECNA’s board,” said Tim Jemal, the Executive Director at TECNA.
“The new and returning directors bring decades of experience that will help TECNA continue to better serve the members’ needs.”
