Charlottetown incubator Startup Zone has used COVID-19 as an opportunity to rebrand its Summer Startup Summit as a national event.
The conference has historically been a gathering place for PEI entrepreneurs and industry luminaries. But with the pandemic forcing Startup Zone to take the event digital, a lack of geographic barriers is facilitating a nationwide expansion.
“Targeted at current and aspiring entrepreneurs, this event is intended to equip attendees with the tools they need to take the next steps to grow their business and to meet some like-minded folks along the way!” said Startup Zone in a statement.
Speakers will include business pundit Amber Mac, who has appeared on CNN and Bloomberg, and mental health campaigner Eric Windeler, a Halifax native who founded the Jack.org advocacy group.
This year’s event will be held on Aug. 20 from 9am to 3pm. Interested entrepreneurs can apply here.
