The University of New Brunswick’s J. Herbert Smith Centre is looking for applicants to two of its startup accelerator programs, Energia Ventures and The Summer Institute.
Now in its seventh year of operation, Energia Ventures supports startups from around the world involved in energy, smart grids, cleantech and cybersecurity. Previous participants have come from as far away as Jordan and South Africa.
The program recently began running twice annually in response to increased demand, and is slated to be held in-person in Fredericton, with the possibility for a hybrid format depending on public health conditions. Participating companies will be eligible for up to $70,000 in funding.
The Summer Institute, meanwhile aims to back companies with positive social and environmental impacts. Its programming teaches sales, marketing and customer validation skills.
Although based in Fredericton, the institute also accepts companies from elsewhere in the province and from other countries. Like Energia Ventures, it will be held in person this year. Companies are also eligible for a limited amount of financial support.
Both accelerators will run from April to July. Entrepreneurs can apply for Energia Ventures here and The Summer Institute here.
