If you’re in Atlantic Canada and reading this, the odds are good you’re going to an event next week.

There are big events in three of the four provinces, and we’re going to do our best to cover all of them.

Today, we’re beginning our coverage of East Coast Startup Week, to be held in Fredericton, with a profile of CeteX, one of the five finalists in the Breakthru competition put on by the New Brunswick Innovation Foundation.  All the Startup Week stories will have the tag ECSW in the headline.

The Breakthru Dinner at the Delta Fredericton Hotel on Wednesday evening will be one of the highlights of the week.  The three winners of Breakthru will be announced, as will the CBC’s People’s Choice Award, which is decided by TV viewers. We’ll have profiles of the finalists leading up to the dinner.

On Thursday night, PropelICT’s Launch36 will hold its DemoDay, at which the seven teams that have spent five months in the accelerator will present their companies. We plan to profile all these companies, and a young entrepreneur who’s worked with the accelerator. These profiles will run after DemoDay.

Our friends Rob Foley and Suhaim Abdussamad from Startup Kitchen will organize a Startup Weekend, which we will report on Monday, March 25.

Check the East Coast Startup Week website for a full list of events.

That’s just what’s happening in New Brunswick. In St. John’s, we’ll be attending NewfoundOceans, a mentoring event for marine industries companies organized by the Newfoundland and Labrador Association of Technical Industries, the Department of Innovation, Business and Rural Development, the Atlantic Canada Opportunities Agency and Permjot Valia of MentorCamp.

Meanwhile, Rocket Builders of Vancouver will be hosting three Go-To-Market Workshops across the region – Tuesday in Moncton, Wednesday in Halifax and Thursday in St. John’s. We’ll catch up with them at the Newfoundland event.

Finally, the Halifax Entrepreneurship Expo will take place at the Cunard Centre next Thursday, with the exposition happening during the day and the Dine with a Legend Dinner, featuring Arlene Dickenson, happening in the evening. We’ll cover the results of the Startup Sunday competition, which will be announced that night.
