The National Angel Capital Organization, or NACO, will hold its virtual Atlantic Summit on Thursday, and aims to attract not only Atlantic Canadian viewers but also national attendees.
Amber Mac, former co-host of BNN’s App Central and Bloomberg Brink, will lead discussions on mobilizing capital, leveraging national connectivity, and evaluating global perspectives on angel investing.
NACO has become more active in Atlantic Canada in the past few years, as it has been working with several groups on attempts to develop an angel network spanning the whole region.
“The goal is to attract more capital to Atlantic Canadian startups,” said Alex Gillis, a serial entrepreneur who is assisting NACO.
He added the organization is hoping aspiring angel investors will attend the event to learn best practice on angel investing. There will be special sessions for these potential investors on Tuesday, and anyone interested in attending should contact NACO.
This Atlantic Summit has a roster of speakers from inside and outside Atlantic Canada, who will share their insights on capital raising, angel investing, and building on the momentum of the Atlantic Canada startup community.
I will be appearing in a round table discussion with Charlotte Murray, Chief Coaching Officer at Propel, and Melody Pardoe, Chief Engagement Officer at Canada’s Ocean Supercluster. We will be discussing the state of the ecosystem and our vision for the Atlantic Canadian startup community.
The Atlantic Summit will begin at noon ADT, and you can sign up for the event here.
