The Halifax chapter of silver economy group Aging2.0 is holding a virtual pitch competition next month for early-stage startups whose products are designed to improve the life of seniors.
The event will be part of the Longevity Economy Showcaae, a conference for people interested in business opportunities that come from meeting the needs of the elderly. You can register for the conference, which will be held in the afternoon of April 12, at this link.
In the pitching segment of the Showcase, each startup will have five minutes to present its business plan to a panel of judges.
Aging2.0 said in a press release that interested founders should be able to show evidence of product-market fit, but not have entered mass production. They can be in the development stage or in-market for less than 24 months. Competitors will be judged on their ideas’ potential impacts, their uniqueness, feasibility and the quality of their pitches.
Five finalists will be selected for the competition. It features a prize for the winner, although Aging2.0’s press release did not specify the nature of the prize.
Interested founders can apply to Ed Leach at cedwardleach@gmail.com. The deadline to enter is March 31.
