Launch Dal at Dalhousie University is seeking applicants for its revamped Collide program for the 2018-2019 school year. This will be the fifth cohort of the Halifax-based entrepreneurial workshops and programming that aims to grow early-stage, high-potential startups.
Collide is open to anyone and it’s free to apply. And Launch Dal is doing something different with its application process for Collide this year. To apply, applicants must submit a maximum two-minute long video that explains their business idea and how they plan to use the business model canvas to grow their venture.
Past Collide alumni include Tranquility Online, Axem Neurotechnology and DeepSenseData.
Successful applicants will then take part in a pitching competition to earn their spot in the program. From there, the finalists will receive up to $5,000 in non-dilutive funding throughout the course of the program to grow their business. Participants will also attend workshops, pitching sessions and networking events once a week.
Applications are due by Thursday, Sept. 6th. The program will begin on the 20th of September and end on April 25th, though that is subject to change.
