Invest Nova Scotia has put out a call for applicants to its GreenShoots funding and mentorship program, which offers agtech, biotech and cleantech companies up to $40,000 in grants.

The latest iteration of the program marks its first time being run by the recently created Invest Nova Scotia, under a partnership with industry groups Bioenterprise Canada and the Nova Scotia Innovation Hub, which is backed by the provincial and federal governments, as well as Dalhousie University. To qualify, startups must have booked less than $1 million in cumulative sales and not have already raised more than $25,000 from Invest Nova Scotia.

Applicants who are selected for the program’s shortlist will each be given 10 minutes on Zoom to present their business overview, proposed budget and a plan showing how they will use the $40,000. The presentation will be closed to the public and followed by a 10-minute question-and-answer session, also behind closed doors.

The deadline to apply is March 14, anyone who makes the shortlist will be informed on March 22 and winners will hear back April 3. Details and an application form can be found here.
