This year’s Innovation Week, hosted by Newfoundland and Labrador industry group TechNL will feature seminars on topical issues like the skilled labour market and access to capital.
Now in its ninth year, Innovation Week is TechNL’s flagship, multi-day conference held from Oct. 4 to 6 at the St. John's Convention Centre. This year will mark newly minted CEO Florian Villaumé’s first time at the helm, and he said in an interview that he and his team have put together a slate of speakers heavily focused on the hurdles involved in scaling companies and how to overcome them.
“We have different topics that all reflect some area that our members think are key for their growth and for scaling,” he said. “We have more (speakers) sharing experience on how to grow and scale more on the strategy side.”
A significant number of medtech companies will likely attend innovation week, as companies like PragmaClin Research blur the line between the IT sector and medical technologies, but the conference will be largely digital-focused. TechNL, Villaumé said, has a range of other events targeted more at medical startups.
