Innovacorp has announced seven winners of its latest Sprint competition, and will award $25,000 to each of them.
The Nova Scotia early-stage venture capital agency said Friday it selected the winners from 40 applications for its winter intake. As well as the cash, each winner will work with Innovacorp’s mentors.
Sprint is a funding program that provides as much as $25,000 in non-dilutive funding as well as business guidance to a range of Nova Scotian startups. The goal is to help young companies meet specific, short-term aims and reward them if they succeed.
Each competition comprises two phases: Phase 1 is for companies that have never received Sprint funding before; and Phase 2 is for previous winners who have shown they can meet the goals set for them. Five of the seven companies in the current cohort are second-time winners.
