Dartmouth-based Clean Foundation is seeking host and student applicants for its Clean Leadership Summer Internship Program, a sustainability-focused youth employment program in Nova Scotia.
The group has partnered with provincial employers to provide nine- and 15-week summer internships in the clean economy. They are interested in projects that improve energy efficiency, define the future of transportation, agriculture, and green building methods, and create new products in a circular economy.
Host employers are eligible to receive various benefits, including a 60 percent wage subsidy, full HR, administrative and payroll services, occupational health and safety resources and intern training.
Applications for host employers will open on Jan. 4.
Applications for summer internships starting in May and June 2021 close Jan. 18.
The Clean Foundation reported that in 2020, it helped 39 host employers and 46 types of project. More than 60 percent of projects were based in rural Nova Scotia.
