The third annual Atlantic Tech Summit will be held on Wednesday, with the theme of “Building a Stronger Atlantic Tech Ecosystem”.

The day-long virtual event features a range of keynotes and panel discussions that showcase the progress the region has made in developing the IT ecosystem, and the challenges it still faces. The speakers include industry leaders from across Canada, including several prominent members of the Atlantic Canadian startup/tech community.

“They will discuss the role technology is playing in their organizations, how it has driven change and impacted growth,” said a statement from Digital Nova Scotia, which calls the Tech Summit the fastest-growing technology conference in Atlantic Canada.

The keynote speaker this year is Kevin Peesker, President of Microsoft Canada, who will speak at 9 a.m.

One of the dominant themes of the 2021 Atlantic Tech Summit will be the subject of talent, which is a prominent topic of conversation in tech and startup circles these days. As demand has soared from employers, Atlantic Canada has increased capacity at computer science schools, welcomed more people from other places and witnessed the phenomenon of remote work.

I will be moderating a panel in the morning titled "Building Ecosystems" which will dive into the talent issue. And in the afternoon, there will be a panel discussion titled “The War for Talent and How to Win it”.
