Tribe Network, the Halifax-based startup support organization for BIPOC founders, has announced funding of $500 to $1,000 for BIPOC entrepreneurs via its Start Small grants.
The grants are one-time, but also come with mentorship and educational programming, as well as networking events. To be eligible, companies must be at least one-third owned by a BIPOC founder and have less than $5,000 of lifetime revenue.
Applicants will be assessed based on the viability of their products and businesses, founders’ domain expertise and how they plan to use the funds. The money is coming partly from utility company Emera, which earlier this year announced a $500,000 funding package for Tribe, including money for 300 Start Small grants.
The deadline to apply is July 21, and applicants will receive responses by Aug. 5. You can learn more here.
