Nova Scotia-based inclusive innovation group ONSIDE is looking for applicants to its virtual Start Now Incubator for female founders or other women, which it runs in partnership with the Bridgewater-based virtual startup house Mashup Lab.

The program is funded by the federal government’s Women Entrepreneurship Strategy Fund and has a particular focus on backing “rural, indigenous, diverse and underserved women.” Beginning in September, founders will attend three-and-a-half-hour remote sessions a week.

Start Now covers the basics of startup ideation, business planning, market research, customer discovery and pitching, as well as giving founders access to one-on-one coaching and mentorship opportunities. Its content is a modified version of Mashup Lab’s own virtual incubator.

“Thanks to the continued efforts of Mashup Lab to unleash entrepreneurial potential, a tailored version of their ‘Dream Business Virtual Business Incubator’ is now available to support the efforts of the Start Now Incubator project’s commitment to rural, indigenous, and diverse/intersectional women to start and grow their businesses,” says the Start Now Incubator on its website.

“For those already with an existing business, it provides the dedicated space you need to connect with what’s working in your business and what needs to be refined to take you to the next level.”
