Dartmouth's Centre for Ocean Ventures and Entrepreneurship’s will host an Ocean Connector event Thursday, that will include a panel on the bluetech startup ecosystem.
The panelists will be moderator Mohammad Ali Raza, Eric Siegel, Peter Moreira and Jeff Larsen.
Raza is a partner with Halifax law firm Cox & Palmer. He previously served as general counsel for several multi-national oil and gas companies, and his practice is now focused on the wind and tidal power industries, ports and bluetech companies.
Siegel is Executive in Residence at the Ocean Supercluster-backed Ocean Startup Project, which aims to boost Canada’s ocean technology sector. He is also Chief Innovation Officer at the Ocean Frontier Institute — a multi-national industry group that aims to encourage collaboration between oceans researchers from different countries.
Larsen is the site lead for CDL Atlantic, Dalhousie University’s chapter of international startup accelerator Creative Destruction Lab. He is also a serial entrepreneur, co-founding three clean energy companies.
The publisher of Entrevestor, Moreira is a veteran business journalist who has written for Bloomberg, the South China Morning Post, as well holding bureau chief roles for Knight-Ridder Financial News and New York-based mergers and acquisitions magazine The Deal.
