On the cusp of rolling out a new Rich Communications Suite product announced earlier this year, NewPace Technology Development Inc. is seeking its first round of equity funding. 

NewPace specializes in software development for mobile telecommunications, and is still owned solely by two co-founders, CEO  Brent Newsome and CTO Gavin Murphy. The company borrowed $850,000 from the Business Development Bank of Canada last November and has re-invested its own profits to finance the development of the rcsConnect product but has never raised money from venture capital funds or angels.

CarbonCure Technology on Thursday announced that it has secured an undisclosed equity investment from 350 Capital, a Toronto investment company started by real estate developers  to invest in green building products.
The Halifax cleantech company said in a statement  that the investment comes after a successful  pilot project in Toronto in which CarbonCure blocks were used in a parking garage at the  Hullmark Centre in North York. The blocks were manufactured by Atlas Block of Midland,  Ont., which has been  testing the CarbonCure system.

The federal government on Wednesday lent $1 million to two biotech companies that have grown out of Dalhousie University’s research facilities.

Greg Kerr, Member of Parliament for West Nova, announced that the Atlantic Canada Opportunities Agency will lend $500,000 to Thorasys to help to commercialize its tremoFlo Forced Oscillation Technique device.
