Maritime Gourmet Mushrooms of Herring Cove, Nova Scotia, has received a $200,000 loan from the Atlantic Canada Opportunities Agency to meet the growing demand for its exotic varieties of mushrooms.

The company was established in 2014 and began selling in 2015.  It produces 11 types of fresh mushrooms, which are sold in farmers’ markets, restaurants and specialty retailers throughout Atlantic

Teledyne CARIS, the Fredericton specialist in underwater mapping, will lead a new project funded by Canada’s Ocean Supercluster to develop cloud-based software to be used in mapping the ocean floor.

The Ocean Supercluster announced the $2.1 million project on Friday, saying that it would contribute $944,000 to the initiative, its first led by a New Brunswick partner.

Halifax-based SalesRight, which helps B2B Software-as-a-Service companies simplify their pricing, has been acquired by Santa Barbara, Calif.-based FastSpring for an undisclosed price.

FastSpring is a privately owned ecommerce firm targeting software and SaaS companies, and will use the SalesRight software to provide its clients’ sales teams with interactive quoting and digital signature tools.

Further ramping up its activity, Canada’s Ocean Supercluster on Thursday announced it is backing four more projects that aim to grow Canada’s marine economy, benefit the environment and encourage diversity.
