We’ve got great news: Nicole LeBlanc has kindly agreed to be the chair and host of Entrevestor Live, our virtual event taking place on Oct. 6.

Entrevestor Live will be a celebration of success in the Atlantic Canadian startup community, with some of the region’s best founders appearing with their investors to tell their stories. LeBlanc is the perfect person to host such an event because of her experiences in the region and as a venture capital investor on a national and international level.

Currently serving as the Chair of the Innovacorp Board, she has been a driving force in the Atlantic Canadian startup community since she first joined the New Brunswick Innovation Foundation as an Investment Analyst in 2007.

"In the 15 years since I started in venture capital the Atlantic Canadian tech ecosystem has grown substantially,” said LeBlanc. “There are now a number of later stage companies in the region that have international investors and customers. Being located in a smaller region used to be seen as a challenge for growth, now it's being turned into an advantage."

Entrevestor Live is designed to showcase some of the companies that have led the transformation LeBlanc is speaking of. The program will feature deep dives into such titans as CarbonCure, Introhive and META, with the CEOs and long-time investors discussing key milestones in each company’s journey.

The program will also feature discussions on such topics as opportunities in oceantech and how valuations in Atlantic Canada stack up against other regions.

In hosting the three-hour conference, LeBlanc will bring a unique blend of local knowledge and global perspective. She is currently based in Copenhagen, where she is an investor with 2150, an urbantech and sustainability-focused venture fund.

Previously, she was the Director of Investments and Partnerships for Sidewalk Labs, an Alphabet company dedicated to helping cities meet their biggest challenges through innovation. Before joining Sidewalk, she was a director with BDC Capital, leading the investment and management of a 150-plus portfolio of seed stage startups. BDC Capital is the Founding Partner of Entrevestor Live.
