Within a year of announcing a new chief executive and chief financial officer, Fredericton- and Miami-based Introhive also has a new chief operating officer: Jason Bass.
An experienced tech executive, Bass has a track record of improving companies' operational efficiency and helping to build out revenue streams, Introhive said in a statement. The company added that one of his key responsibilities will be growing the company’s “go to market divisions,” in contrast to a round of layoffs last year, that amounted to about 16 percent of Introhive’s total workforce.
Chief executive Lee Blakemore was appointed in January following the departure of co-founder Jody Glidden from the role to focus on his new startup, Postilize, while CFO Saeideh Fard was appointed in June.
“Jason’s impressive background and extensive experience in sales and operations positions him well for this role,” said Blakemore. “The execution of our strategy across sales, customer success, and product is core to our success.
"We are confident that under Jason’s leadership, we will have the management system and high-velocity operating model in place to drive execution and revenue growth.”
Bass was previously vice president of global business operations at Florida edtech giant Anthology + Blackboard, and before that he worked at international technology consultancy BMC Software.
Introhive still holds the record for the largest capital raise in New Brunswick history — a US$100 million mega-round from 2021 — but it also made deep cuts to its workforce last year in what then-CEO Glidden said was an attempt to right-size the business in the face of mounting economic headwinds.
The company sells artificial intelligence-based customer relationship management, or CRM, software. It uses AI to identify data stored in companies’ tech systems, and help them to use it to increase revenue and improve productivity. The co-founders, Glidden and Stewart Walchli, are serial entrepreneurs who previously sold their former startup Chalk Media to Blackberry, then called Research in Motion.
