Emergence, a bioscience incubator based on Prince Edward Island and targeting a national market, has inked a partnership deal with angel investor group Keiretsu Forum Canada.

Keiretsu is part of an international network that includes about 3,000 private equity investors, venture capitalists, family offices and institutional investors. Emergence offers its member companies, which number more than 50, mentorship and advisory services.

Under the deal, Keiretsu will offer Emergence members access to its network of investors, as well as a chance at investment capital.

“This will clear the path for bioscience companies in Atlantic Canada to access a globally competitive early-stage ecosystem while allowing our active investor base and our portfolio companies to diversify into new geographies,” said Keiretsu Canada President Ozan Isinak in a press release.
