Dalhousie University is looking for applicants to its Lab2Market Discover program, the precursor program to the school’s Lab2Market Validate accelerator, with two format options: a three-day intensive program and a less condensed, 10-week version.

The program is meant for full-time researchers or advanced students who want to explore whether it could be viable for them to commercialize their research via entrepreneurship.

The three-day course will start Dec. 4, while the 10-day program will run in 2024, with exact dates to be anounced.

Dalhousie’s Lab2Market programs, hosted through its Dal Innovates entrepreneurship centre, are part of a national suite of accelerators and incubators. Newfoundland and Labrador’s Memorial University offers similar Lab2Market programming for bluetech research and the University of New Brunswick hosts an annual cybersecurity cohort.

“Participants come with their expertise and an idea for their venture, or sometimes an established young venture,” says Dal Innovates about the Discover program. “(Prospective founders) will explore the opportunities and challenges in entrepreneurship as an alternative career path – from the various potential applications of your technology to creating a network in the ecosystem.”

The application deadline for the three-day program is Dec. 1, and you can learn more and apply here.
