This year’s edition of BSides Halifax, which is a community-run cybersecurity conference, is coming May 4.
The BSides conferences, held at numerous locations around the world, are a franchise of information security gatherings that offer event organizers a “peer-to-peer framework” for engaging with industry players.
The Halifax event, which will be held at the Halifax Central Library from 9:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., is organized by Brad Call of Georgia-based cybersecurity giant BeyondTrust and Jeff Hann of San Diego medical device-maker ResMed.
Tickets are priced inexpensively at a $13.37 minimum donation, with all proceeds going to Feed Nova Scotia. On the conference website, organizers say they especially want to emphasize that the event is meant to be welcoming towards people from underrepresented groups.
