A summer internship program that provides Nova Scotia youth and employers with opportunities to develop leadership in green companies is once again seeking applicant employers.
The Clean Leadership Summer Internship program matches employers with interns aged 15 to 30 for summer work placements of between 9 to 15 weeks.
Organizations that focus on climate change mitigation, conservation, waste management, clean tech, active transportation, research, and other areas rooted in the clean economy are encouraged to apply.
“We welcome applications from community groups, associations, businesses, and individuals who share our vision of supporting youth employment,” organizers said in a statement.
The program offers a 60 per cent wage subsidy as well as HR/admin and payroll services.
Organizers say the focus is on providing equitable internship opportunities for all, and that they work with community partners to bring opportunities to BIPOC youth.
The group will hold an information session Wednesday, Jan.12, at 11 am. Register here.
The call for employer applications is open until Jan.18. Applications for intern participants open next month.
