The University of New Brunswick's Faculty of Management in Fredericton is launching its Sales & Global Growth Initiative, a new pilot designed to prepare students to contribute to business growth from day one.
Five of the Faculty’s top BBA (Bachelor of Business Administration) students have been selected as the inaugural cohort for the two-year initiative, which combines academic and experiential learning, industry training, and networking opportunities, speaker sessions, and participation in leading sales competitions across Canada.
"Businesses consistently tell us they need graduates who can generate opportunities, build relationships, and contribute to revenue growth from the start," said Ryan Reid, the IBEC Manager in a statement.
"This program offers a new and exciting experiential learning opportunity that equips outstanding students with practical skills and real-world experience. Employers will benefit from access to highly motivated, well-trained students who can add value immediately."
The Sales & Global Growth Initiative was created in response to feedback from the business community, which has identified a growing need for graduates with expertise in sales, business development, and export growth.
It is being delivered in partnership with the NB Business Council, helping connect participating students with employers and industry opportunities. During the summer, students will also complete a paid sales-focused internship with participating employers.
Sales training company Atlantic Growth Solutions will deliver sales and professional development workshops which will culminate in a Sandler certification. Through these workshops, students will gain hands-on instruction in modern sales methodologies and professional business development practices.
Businesses looking to strengthen their sales and business development capacity while supporting emerging talent are invited to partner with the Faculty of Management. Employers interested in hosting a paid internship or learning more about the program are encouraged to contact Ryan Reid at ryan.reid@unb.ca.
