East Valley Ventures, the Saint John-based investment group, has named serial tech entrepreneur Brian Dunphy as an Executive-in-Residence.

Dunphy, who will continue his position as General Manager of Cvent Canada, posted on Facebook on Tuesday that East Valley Chair Gerry Pond has offered him the position. As Executive-in-Residence, he will help the executive teams of the 28 companies in the East Valley portfolio to accelerate growth.

“Gerry, Bob Justason and team have been a driving force in mentoring and investing in Atlantic Canadian entrepreneurship,” said Dunphy. “I'm eager to dive in and help where I can!”

Dunphy was a Co-Founder of Radian6, the Fredericton social media monitoring company that was bought by Salesforce for $326 million in 2012. He was then CEO of OneLobby, which was bought out by Cvent of McLean, Va., in 2014.

Since then, Dunphy has grown the company’s Atlantic Canadian team to 150 people, and he told Entrevestor earlier this month he is hoping to add another 20 to 30 employees in the region.
