Energia Ventures, a three-month intensive accelerator for entrepreneurs with an innovative business in the energy, smart grid, clean tech, and cybersecurity sectors, is holding its Demo Day next week.
Energia, which is based in Fredericton at UNB’s J. Herbert Smith Centre for Technology Management and Entrepreneurship, holds two virtual cohorts per year.
The program is in its seventh year of operation and provides funding, mentoring, and programming to business from around the world.
The four teams from the Fall 2024 cohort are:
NeoApps.ai (New Brunswick)
NeoApps.ai is an early-stage startup focused on digital transformation through tailored software and AI-driven solutions. The company specializes in automating content development, software products, and custom development. Their flagship product, NeoApps.AI, enables rapid development of auto-generated APIs and software services. NeoApps.ai also offers website development, Microsoft Power Apps solutions, and additional services such as SEO and social media marketing, aiming to help businesses achieve exponential growth.
Beluga Pods (UK)
Beluga Pods is an app designed to address the global loneliness and mental health crisis by providing a safe, stigma-free space for individuals to connect and improve their well-being. The platform offers features like AI-powered support, mood tracking, and personalized communities to help users navigate life's challenges. It aims to change the narrative around loneliness by fostering real connections both online and offline, supporting users at every stage of their journey to better mental health.
Xena Vision (Alberta)
The technology is meant to give users the power to prevent life-threatening safety risks. The idea aims to simplify safety and prevent crime for law enforcement and security officials working at areas such as airports, streets, large venues, municipal emergencies, and extreme sports races. The technology works by utilizing existing cameras and using advanced analytics. The patented tech is original and designed to provide safety for all.
Urban Stalk (Ontario)
Urban Stalk has created its own POD Technology to optimize growth environments for 50 vegetable crop foods while lowering cost and carbon footprint, locally, and year-round. Urban Stalk's PODS are able to reuse natural resources (including organic waste) as much as eight times. The company works with retail grocers, wholesalers, and e-commerce brands to bring a resilient, local, and circular product that is high quality, price competitive, and environmentally friendly to customers and communities.
