The University of New Brunswick’s TME team will host three events in the next two weeks that will showcase a range of companies going through its programs.
The TME group – whose official name is the J. Herbert Smith Centre for Technology, Management and Entrepreneurship – oversees a host of entrepreneurship programs at UNB. Between July 13 and 20, it will be holding demo day-style events for its Summer Institute, Energia Ventures accelerator and Masters of TME program.
Before the pandemic, it would host a series of these events in mid-July each year, becoming an opportunity to network during the summer doldrums. These events have been held virtually for the past two years but two of the three events will be held in person this month.
Here are the events:
Wednesday, July 13
3 pm
Grimross Brewing
The Summer Institute teaches sales, marketing, and customer validation skills to companies with positive social and environmental impacts. Six companies will pitch at the demo day on Wednesday.
Friday, July 15
10 am
Harriet Irving Library
The Masters of TME program offers graduate students instruction in launching and sustaining startups, and its alumni include such companies as Potential Motors. Next is the demo day for students who have attended 2021-20 program. Anyone wishing to attend Next can contact Dominic Blakely at blakely@unb.ca.
Energia Ventures Summer Demo Day
Wednesday, July 20
12 Noon
To be held virtually
The University of New Brunswick’s Energia Ventures is an accelerator for energy, cleantech, cybersecurity and artificial intelligence companies. The free accelerator, which hosts companies from all over the world, is holding two cohorts for the first time this year. The Summer Demo Day will feature five companies.
