Nominations will remain open for another week for the inaugural InnovateNB Awards, which will recognize leaders in innovation and entrepreneurship in New Brunswick.

The nominations – the forms for which can be found here – are open until Nov. 10, after which they will be submitted to the selection committee. The winners will be named in a gala in Saint John on Nov. 22.

Created by such innovation-focused organizations as TechImpact, the New Brunswick Innovation Foundation, the University of New Brunswick’s McKenna Institute, Propel and Envision Saint John, InnovateNB is the successor to the KIRA Awards, which celebrated knowledge-based industries in the province.

The awards ceremony is part of a full day of activities, including an industry trade show and recruitment showcase as well as talks from industry leaders and investors. The trade show and recruitment showcase will be free to the public.

Nominations are also open in the following categories:

  • Premier’s Award for Innovation
  • Productivity Improvement by Adapting Technology
  • Innovation in Academia and Research
  • Most Innovative Startup or Scaleup

The organizers are also seeking nominations for “Ones to Watch”, which recognizes rising innovative individuals.
