Life Sciences Nova Scotia has appointed Krista Bezanson, a seasoned leader in economic development and business growth, as VP Business Development and Strategy.

Bezanson will be taking a leave of absence from her position with the Atlantic Canada Opportunities Agency to bring her experience and expertise to the industry association as the organization works to strengthen Nova Scotia’s growing life sciences sector, the group said in a press release.

Bezanson has expertise in business development, strategic partnerships, and market expansion and will be instrumental in fostering collaboration, driving investment, and supporting the commercialization of cutting-edge research and technologies in Nova Scotia, the group said.

“Krista’s leadership and her dedication to fostering growth and innovation within the life sciences sector will be invaluable as we work together to elevate Nova Scotia’s position as a global leader in life sciences excellence,” said Doris Grant, CEO of Life Sciences Nova Scotia.

In her new role, Bezanson will work to attract investment, forge strategic partnerships, and identify opportunities for life sciences companies throughout the province. She will also work with stakeholders across the public, private, and academic sectors to support the growth of Nova Scotia’s life sciences ecosystem and create new pathways for success.

“Nova Scotia has immense potential in the life sciences sector, and I look forward to collaborating with the team to drive growth, innovation, and partnerships that will position our companies and research institutions for success on the global stage,” said Bezanson.
