Rural innovation hub Ignite has partnered with the Centre for Entrepreneurship Education and Development to host a virtual accelerator, Amplify, for startups across Nova Scotia.
The accelerator -- which is now open for application -- will include 10 instructional online sessions, as well as one-on-one coaching, with the course material focused on helping entrepreneurs “learn by doing.”
Also incorporated into the program will be a set of accountability milestones for founders, aimed at quantifying any momentum participants manage to achieve, as well as identifying operational bottlenecks for their companies.
“We have had tremendous success with previous Amplify cohorts where several rural entrepreneurs have taken their ideas and early stage endeavours, to work through hurdles and really do important work to get their business to the next level,” said Ignite CEO Doug Jones in a press release.
“Participants have to be committed to joining the cohort, but the results have proven to be significant for each participant.”
Participants will receive full-time Ignite resident status for six months, which includes access to the innovation hub’s facilities in New Glasgow, Yarmouth and Halifax.
Interested entrepreneurs can apply here. Those who are shortlisted will have five minutes to pitch a panel of judges from Ignite and CEED, and the winners will gain entry into Amplify. The deadline to apply is Feb. 23.
