Genesis has announced six graduate companies from its flagship Enterprise accelerator, including four women-led companies, which represents a new record for the St. John’s-based startup hub.
Enterprise targets companies looking to reach $1 million in annual revenue, and which have a minimum viable product and traction in the marketplace. They also must have completed Genesis’s intermediate-level Evolution accelerator or a similar program.
In a statement, Genesis said female founders have grown to account for about 40 per cent of its client base, up from zero in 2014.
“At SiftMed, our biggest passion is the product we’re building and helping improve the world of medical data analysis,” said CEO Holly Hill. “Alongside this, we’re passionate about creating growth in the province. Newfoundland and Labrador’s startup ecosystem is full of resilient entrepreneurs with amazing support from across the community and we're lucky that it's filled with such innovation.”
