I’m going to say something you’d expect me to say: the content at Entrevestor Live will be outstanding.
Entrevestor Live is a virtual conference starting at 1 pm AST on Wednesday that will demonstrate how Atlantic Canadian startups have grown into global corporations. It will offer a concise program (about 190 minutes) and low price ($70+HST) so just about anyone in the startup community can afford the time and money to attend. You can order tickets here.
For the past few days, I’ve been meeting with the speakers to go over their panel sessions, and I am jazzed – beyond jazzed – about the discussions we’ll be presenting.
The program features deep dives into three of the leading innovation-driven companies in the region, and here are teasers for them:
CarbonCure Technologies – CEO Rob Niven and BDC Senior Managing Partner Tony Van Bommel will discuss the company’s past and future, including the possibility of an IPO. Moderated by CVCA Chief Executive Kim Furlong, this session will show how CarbonCure overcame challenges to become a leader in its field and one of the few companies in the world to win an Xprize.
Introhive – Kathryn Lockhart, CEO of Propel, moderates this discussion with Introhive CEO Jody Glidden and NBIF Director of Investments Raymond Fitzpatrick, who will discuss the company’s journey to its US$100 million funding round this year. Fitzpatrick will also share an optimistic assessment of funding for New Brunswick startups.
META – CEO George Palikaras will discuss his decision years ago to move his startup from London to Halifax, and how the local ecosystem helped to build a publicly listed unicorn. Appearing with First Angel Network Co-Founder Brian Lowe and NACO Director Amanda Filipe, he will also outline META’s growth plans.
As well as our three featured companies, we’ll have panel discussions on the life sciences and oceantech sectors and one on that analyzes valuations in Atlantic Canada. Our overview of the Atlantic Canadian startup scene will include a discussion with Verafin Co-Founder Brendan Brothers on what’s happened to the anti-fincrime company since Nasdaq bought it for US$2.75 billion.
We hope you’ll join us on Wednesday for Entrevestor Live, whose Founding Partner is BDC Capital. It promises to be a great event.
