Dalhousie University’s Emera ideaHUB incubator has opened applications for this year’s Design2BUILD accelerator -- an eight-month program meant to help deep tech startups develop and manufacture their products.
Companies in the program will have access to training workshops, research and development facilities, technical assistance and one-on-one business coaching.
You can apply here. The deadline is Sept. 6.
The accelerator is split into three modules, with each lasting two to three months. The first module focuses on product design, the second on building a product and the third on scaling manufacturing.
The ideaHUB says on its website that Design2BUILD is particularly well-suited to entrepreneurs who are ready to start prototyping but lack access to the facilities or materials they need to execute their ideas.
For help with access to supplies and services, accelerator companies will also be able to apply for up to $10,000 of funding from Nova Scotia venture capital Crown corporation Innovacorp.
Companies that have previously completed Design2BUILD include cannabis testing startup Greenlight Analytical, which closed a $300,000 seed round in July, and myFlock, which sells regulatory compliance software for the poultry industry and is now participating in Innovacorp Accelerate.
