Three Maritime companies – GoInstant, TitanFile and VidCruiter -- that have yet to see their second birthday have been named to Branham Group Inc.’s list of Top 25 Canadian Up and Coming ICT Companies.

Ottawa-based Branham is a strategic consulting firm focused on technology, and it ranks hundreds of Canadian ICT companies, including 25 young companies that are ascending.

Listing its top newcomers alphabetically, it highlighted: GoInstant, the Halifax startup that allows users on different computers to work on one-another’s screens; TitanFile, the Dartmouth-based collaboration and file-sharing company; and Moncton-based VidCruiter, which provides a video-interview system to corporate recruiters.

Headed by Jevon MacDonald, GoInstant has been named to a few of these lists in the past year, including TechVibe’s list of the top new startups in Canada last year. TitanFile, founded by Milan Vrekic and Tony Abou-Assaleh, was a finalist for the 2011 Deloitte Technology Fast 50 companies-to-watch list.

“It’s an honor to be recognized amongst some of Canada’s most innovative ICT start-ups,” said Vrekic on his company’s blog, “and we greatly appreciate the support from such a nationally recognized group like Branham300.”

Sean Fahey’s VidCruiter is gaining momentum as it is participating in not one but two accelerator programs, PropelICT’s Launch36 and the McKenzie Accelerator.

In its list of the top 300 Canadian ICT companies, the leading Atlantic Canadian company was military and naval technology company Rutter Inc. of St. John’s, which came in at the 119^th place having been 102^nd last year. Coming in at No 170 was Mariner Partners of Saint John, moving up from 190.

It's interesting to note that Atlantic Canada placed three in the top 25 of the young companies, but none in the top 100 established IT companies. I think that says something about the generation of young entrepreneurs here.
