Social Media Day Halifax, a day-long social media marketing conference, will be held at the Cineplex in Halifax's Bayer’s Lake on June 9.

The event is one of many that will be held around the world next month as part of an initiative started by technology news website Mashable in 2010. The Halifax chapter is headed up by Anita Kirkbride of Twirp Communications and Linda Daley, who runs marketing company Daley Progress.

The event’s keynote speaker will be fashion journalist and artist Musemo Handahu, and the rest of the program will include talks on subjects like the relationship between cybersecurity and marketing, ChatGPT’s marketing applications and inclusive marketing.

“We are proud to focus on the success of Atlantic Canadian businesses by bringing local experts together to share strategies that have worked for them, right here in Atlantic Canada,” say event organizers on their website.
