The Ocean Technology Council of Nova Scotia’s annual H2O Conference will be held this year from June 13 to 16 at the Halifax Convention Centre, with several attractions relevant to the startup community.
The event will include a panel on skilled workforce issues June 15 at 10:00 a.m.; a panel about the intersection of the aerospace and bluetech industries featuring such startups as Maritime Launch Services and Galaxia Mission Systems at 3:45 p.m. the same day; and the Centre for Ocean Ventures and Entrepreneurship’s demo day at 10:00 a.m. on June 16.
COVE’s demo day will be a full-day, interactive event featuring at least 10 resident companies demonstrating their technology off the ocean tech hub’s Dartmouth docks. Attendees will also be able to tour the facility.
The Ocean Technology Council, or OTCNS, is a bluetech industry group that lobbies for favourable economic policies and promotes careers in marine technology.
The H2O conference costs $400 to attend for OTCNS members and $475 for non-members, but is free for students. The day rate is $225 for members and $275 for non-members, and an exhibition booth costs $1,000 or $1,100 for members and non-members respectively.
