The Dartmouth-based Centre for Ocean Ventures and Entrepreneurship, or COVE, is adding a new feature to its annual Demo Day this year: a pitch session with representatives from 10 bluetech startups and 10 venture capital firms.
The event dubbed Pitch + Roll, is by invitation only and will include three-minute pitches from each startup, followed by a facilitated discussion time. Companies chosen by COVE to participate will also receive mentorship leading up to the event. The entry form indicates bluetech startups can apply regardless of where they're based.
Entrepreneurs who participate in Pitch + Roll will also be invited to participate in the main Demo Day event, which will give startups the chance to show off their technology on the docks at COVE. The organization said the audience will include hundreds of industry leaders and government decision-makers.
Pitch + Roll and the Demo Day will be held June 14, and the deadline to apply for Pitch + Roll is April 21 — next Friday. More information about Demo Day can be found here, and an application form for Pitch + Roll is here.
