The national Melamoon pitch contest is coming to the Maritimes, offering Black founders the chance to win $200,000 in prizes, mentorship, and national exposure.
Melamoon is a national opportunity for Black founders who are ready to scale, Halifax-based Tribe Network, a support group for founders who identify as Black, Indigenous or People of Colour, said in its newsletter.
Backed by FACE Coalition and BLAXPO, the idea is to spotlight, support, and scale ideas rooted in community and culture.
This year, Melamoon is travelling across Canada, connecting with founders through a series of city stops.
The group will start off in Montréal on May 23. and continue throughout the summer in Halifax (June 13), Vancouver, Edmonton and Toronto. The grand finale takes place in Toronto on October 16-17.
