      <title>The Rounds Acquired by Native Touch</title>

      <description><![CDATA[<p><a href="https://therounds.com/" target="_blank">The Rounds</a>, the Halifax-based company that developed a social network for medical professionals, has exited after being acquired by <a href="https://nativetouch.com/" target="_blank">Native Touch</a>, a Toronto digital advertising&nbsp;firm.</p>

<p>In an interview, CEO Tim Rice said that The Rounds &ndash; whose corporate name is Boondoc Technologies Inc. &ndash; was sold in May to Native Touch, which owns a portfolio of companies that have synergies with the Halifax company&rsquo;s network.</p>

<p>The parties did not release the financial details of the transaction.       <description><![CDATA[<p>As we do every summer, we&#39;re taking a break in August -- only it&#39;s a bit longer than usual this year.&nbsp;</p>

<p>We find there&#39;s little news to write about it in the period before Labour Day. And if something newsworthy does happen, there are few readers around to read about it.&nbsp;</p>

      <description><![CDATA[<p>It was feast or famine in the Atlantic Canadian venture capital arena in the first half of 2026, with New Brunswick and Newfoundland and Labrador accounting for 96 percent of the funds raised.</p>

<p>The <a href="http://www.cvca.ca/" target="_blank">Canadian Venture Capital and Private Equity Association</a>, released its quarterly VC data on Tuesday, showing that New Brunswick booked $31.6 million in the six months to June 30. Newfoundland reported $21 million on three deals.</p>

<p>Nova Scotian startups raised $2 million on two deals, and no venture capital was raised by Prince Edward Island companies.</p>

      <description><![CDATA[<p>Fredericton-based <a href="https://greenimaging.com/" target="_blank">Green Imaging Technologies</a> has appointed Norm Couturier as chief executive officer while Co-Founder Derrick Green has moved into the newly created role of chief technology officer.</p>

<p>The changes took effect July 15 and are intended to give separate executive oversight to the company&#39;s commercial operations and technology development.</p>

<p>Couturier had served as chief operating officer for the past two years, overseeing commercial operations. As CEO, he will be responsible for leading the company&#39;s business growth while continuing its commercial expansion.</p>

      <description><![CDATA[<p>The federal government has announced $50 million in funding for <a href="https://www.naturalproductscanada.com/" target="_blank">Natural Products Canada</a> (NPC) to help expand Canada&#39;s agri-food innovation sector through a project valued at $94.8 million.</p>

<p>The funding, provided through the Strategic Response Fund, will support NPC&#39;s efforts to commercialize Canadian agrifood and bio-based technologies and increase their adoption in domestic and international markets.</p>

      <description><![CDATA[<p><a href="https://www.tribenetwork.ca/" target="_blank">Tribe Network </a>says more than 70 Black, Indigenous, and racialized entrepreneurs across Atlantic Canada received support through its 2025&ndash;26 Start Small Grant Program.</p>

<p>The Halifax-based organization released the program&#39;s results on Tuesday, it provided a total of $50,000 in grants through the program, and the recipients generated more than $270,000 in revenue.</p>

<p>Funded by Emera Inc., the program during the 2025&ndash;26 period provided grants ranging from $500 to $1,000 to early-stage entrepreneurs, many of them receiving funding for the first time.</p>
