Propel, the regional tech accelerator, is looking for an Entrepreneur-in-Residence in Halifax, and that opening headlines our Job of the Week column today.
The pan-regional organization offers a virtual accelerator called Incite – Phase 1 helps entrepreneurs find their product-market fit; and Phase 2 helps them to scale and gain international markets. As well as the online curriculum, Propel has a network of entrepreneurs-in-residence who work with companies in person to help them grow.
The Job of the Week column features openings posted on the Entrevestor Job Board, which focuses on jobs in technology, innovation and startups in Atlantic Canada. The Entrevestor Job Board helps match job openings and candidates in the tech and startup communities and is operated by Entrevestor and Alongside.
Here are excerpts from this week’s posting:
Are you passionate about entrepreneurship? Do you consider yourself a leader in the startup ecosystem? Do you have a background in business and technology? Do you want to contribute to the success stories of tech companies in Atlantic Canada?
Propel aims to be a catalyst to establish Atlantic Canada as a nerve centre for technology. We help entrepreneurs build high-value technology companies through our virtual accelerator, Incite. As a result of the success of our virtual accelerator, we have immediate openings for full-time and part-time Entrepreneur-in-Residence (EIR) roles. Like our accelerator, we are a virtual team based throughout Atlantic Canada.
The mission of the Entrepreneur-in-Residence is to help startups build their business idea into a viable venture with growth potential. The EIR works alongside founders in the accelerator program, providing coaching, accountability, leadership, and support. They help to translate the problem the startup is solving into a product customers want to buy.
The EIR draws on their unique expertise and experience in starting ventures to help founders apply "Lean Startup" principles, and other innovative methodologies, to validate their assumptions and their business model through multiple iterations of customer discovery. As a thought leader for innovation and entrepreneurship, the EIR collaborates with other organizations in the startup ecosystem including community resources, mentor networks, and corporate enterprises.
Propel is a virtual, pan-Atlantic organization. All staff, including EIRs, work remotely from their home offices.
Please note: The time commitment for the part-time EIR role will be negotiated on a case-by-case basis, but is expected to be a minimum of 10 hours per week.
In this role, you will work closely with the whole Propel team.
