The University of New Brunswick and Ignite Fredericton have announced a partnership to provide local businesses with free consulting services for COVID-19-related projects.

The Catalyst program will see companies submit proposals, and UNB students, faculty members and researchers will collaborate to form consulting groups.

In a statement, Ignite Fredericton said the initiative is motivated by the complexities faced by local businesses as they respond to the pandemic, such as marketing under volatile social and economic conditions. The student consultants will be paid using money from the New Brunswick government.

“We are committed to providing experiential educational programs that will help our students thrive outside the classroom to respond to the ever-changing needs of our communities and make a difference in the world,” said UNB president and vice-chancellor Paul Mazeroll.

Companies interested in participating can apply until June 26, this Friday
